Karen was brought up on a small, family-run farm and has always been incredibly passionate about agriculture and the countryside. She lives in Devon with her husband Richard and their three children William, Megan and Lucy. She studied for a BSc. (Hons) in Animal Science at the University of Nottingham, Sutton Bonington and stayed on to study a PhD investigating ‘Fatty Acid Uptake in the Ruminant Ovary and Pre-implantation Embryo’. From Nottingham, she worked as a Research and Development Manager for DairyCo (now AHDB) before joining BOCM PAULS (now ForFarmers) in 2011 where she carried out a number of different roles. Karen began an exciting opportunity working for Crediton Milling Company Ltd. as a Ruminant Nutritionist in July 2018 where she manages the Focus Team (who are responsible for carrying out a wide range of technical services on farm such as locomotion scoring, body condition scoring and costings), provides technical support to the sales team as well as providing nutritional advice to farmers. Karen loves working with people and cows and hopes to make a long-term, positive impact on our valuable and important industry! |
